Twelve opportunities, and a constraint that was not technology
A midsized luxury travel advisory firm wanted to double sales over five years while remaining relevant to increasingly consolidated premium travel partners. The company had more than thirty years of proprietary information spread across seven systems, making it harder to train new advisors and inefficient for experienced advisors to plan trips.
OVD conducted interviews with senior team members, reviewed the technology stack and operating procedures, and researched available AI products and implementation options. The assessment identified twelve opportunities where AI and automation could improve sales productivity, operating efficiency and advisor effectiveness, centering on a retrieval-augmented knowledge base that could give the "gold standard" answer to any travel inquiry from the firm's own proprietary data and real-time sources. OVD then helped the company solicit and compare proposals from five implementation firms.
Just as important, the assessment concluded that technology was not the company's most important near-term constraint. The higher priority was bringing in training resources to recruit and onboard new advisors. That conclusion reflects how we approach the work: the goal is not to recommend more AI. It is to help management decide what will create the most value.
