Before we became investors, we built and ran businesses. Across technology, consumer products, food and beverage, hospitality, gaming, manufacturing and professional services, we have dealt with the same questions that confront every growing company: where to focus, when to invest, how to build the right team, which opportunities to pursue and how to scale without losing what made the business successful in the first place.
That operating experience shapes how we invest. We work alongside founders and management teams to identify the few priorities that can matter most, provide capital and resources behind them, and support execution over time.

A partnership, not a formula
Every business is different. We do not arrive with a predetermined operating model or a list of changes that must be made. We start by understanding the business, the people who built it, the market it serves and the ambitions of its owners and management team.
From there, we align on a plan and determine where our experience, network and capital can be most useful. Sometimes that means investing aggressively behind growth. Sometimes it means upgrading systems or adding talent. Sometimes the best decision is to leave a strong part of the business exactly as it is.
Long-term, aligned capital
We invest our own capital and bring in long-standing co-investment partners when appropriate. That gives us flexibility around transaction structure, investment size and holding period — and allows decisions to be driven by what is right for the business rather than by a fixed fund timetable.
Technology is one tool in the toolkit
AI is creating meaningful opportunities for established businesses, but it is not the answer to every problem. We look at technology the same way we look at any other investment: What business objective does it serve? What will it cost? How difficult will it be to implement? How will we measure whether it worked?
For companies that want to explore AI independently of an investment relationship, OVD Advisory conducts focused AI Opportunity Assessments. Two recent projects: a luxury travel advisory firm, where the assessment concluded that technology was not the company's most important constraint, and a financial-services firm now running a fleet of AI agents in production.
What we look for
- $1 million or more in annual EBITDA
- An established, profitable business with a strong position in its market
- A brand, reputation, customer base or expertise that is difficult to replicate
- Recurring, re-occurring or otherwise durable demand
- A management team and/or founder interested in building the next stage of the business
- Meaningful opportunities for growth, operational improvement, strategic investment or acquisitions
